Fun with my 2 Kiddos

Starting family scripture study early!
Jayci got this Book of Mormon from nursery last year and loves to carry it around and pretend to read it. Here she is reading it to Cody. Looks like he's really into it, huh?

Cody has found his thumb and loves to suck on it!

My handsome little boy is getting so big! He's 3 1/2 months and barely fits in his 3-6 month clothes.

Little lamb just out of the tub

Chad's 26 birthday, January 22

I made him 26 cinnamon rolls and put a candle in each one. Jayci enjoyed singing to him and watching him blow out all the candles. He went to his Elder's basketball game that night and they sang happy birthday to him there! He loves his games and does great!

I thought this was so cute- Chad painting Jayci's toenails. And of course she was so good while he did it. I can't get her to sit still when I paint them.

blowing them dry. What a fun dad!

This is a few months ago, but Jayci loves being a big sister. Cody isn't so sure about all the attention! She is so cute to talk to him and try and make him smile. She is such a little mommy and imitates all I say and do. She mostly mommies her dollies the way I do. It's cute. The one thing that worries me is that she is obsessed with poking Cody in the eyes and making him scream. Not sure how to get her away from this, but just try to watch her when they're together!

She also likes to be the baby sometimes!

One day, when straightening my hair, Jayci let me straighten hers. She looked kind of like a rock star with big poofy hair! It made her look so different. Chad was surprised when he saw her that night.

It only lasted a day. The next day it was all wavy and crazy when she woke up.

This was around Christmastime, but I thought it was so funny! Cody was screaming and Jayci just decided to pull a "funny face" and we couldn't get her to stop. "What have I gotten myself into??" is what Chad must be thinking!

Touching Story!

I don't know how many of you heard about little Bronson, but I hadn't until someone sent me an email about his story. This little boy drowned in the tub last month, and then came back to life and miraculously healed completely. It's an amazing story. Watch the video! I also went to her blog and read the whole story. It was Saturday night when I read it. I had just gotten Cody to sleep in my arms around 10. Usually I am so ready to put him to bed and jump in bed myself, but I was hooked on the story and read until 11 when I decided I should probably get to bed. I was just bawling when I read the account of him drowning! What an awful experience. I just imagined myself in the situation and how devastating it would be. It made me so grateful for my kids. I just wanted to hold little Cody in my arms forever. The next day I couldn't get it out of my head. I was so patient with my kids compared to my often impatience I show them. I wish I could always remember this and be a great mother all the time, but of course I'm human, and am already forgetting the feelings I had that night. Isn't that dumb how we forget so easily? Anyway, it just reminded me how careful we have to be with our kids, ESPECIALLY in the tub. Sometimes I'm not careful enough. Touching story!

Pretty Girl

Since I dressed Cody up, I figured I'd dress Jayci cute, too. She is quite picky about what she wears, but fortunately she loves dresses. She hates pictures, so I have to try and capture her before she runs. Isn't she cute? Her hair sure is cute when it's actually done. Fun curls.

Handsome Boy

I decided since Cody's almost 3 months, and getting bigger, he can occasionally wear something besides pajamas (I love to put them in comfortable, warm pajamas when they're so teeny). So today I found a cute little outfit from his drawer and dressed him up. So cute, huh!? I love this little boy, he's adorable.

Shoes are a little big, but he'll grow into them. He's almost 12 pounds. I think Jayci was 12 pounds at 6 months!

40 DEGREES!

Who knew 40 degrees could feel so warm and so wonderful?! Okay, not warm, but bearable. This winter has been tough for me. I'm not sure if it's the fact that we've had inversion, 30 degree weather, at best, and little sun, or if it's that I have a baby and rarely get out, or both, but I sure am excited for spring to come! I can't wait until Jayci can run around outside while Cody and I sit on a blanket and watch her tireless fun! 6 more weeks of winter? Dang. Well, if it really is Spring in 6 weeks I'll be happy. Utah has a way of tricking with its weather patterns.

Cody's first time outside not being strapped in a car seat, literally. (Don't judge me for putting him in a pink and purple stroller. I had a girl first, after all.)

I don't know who enjoyed it most: me, Jayci, or Hank, who is quite neglected in the winter. Cody- not so much, he just slept.

We went on a little mini-walk. Jayci pushing her bear in the stroller, and me pushing Cody. She thinks she's just a little mommy, it's cute.

Cody's cute smiles. He lives in this bouncy seat, it's the best.

Big boy lifting up his head! He also lives on his belly when not in the bouncy seat. Yes, he sleeps on his belly at night like he's not supposed to, but it's the only way I can get him to sleep well. Am I a terrible mom?
