Lia Sophia Party

Yes, I'm hosting a Lia Sophia party on Saturday. I went to a neighbor's party a couple weeks ago and played a game and got a card that said I had to host a party. So, I wasn't too excited, but nonetheless, I'm doing it, and it should be fun. I hope all who are in the area come. It will be at my mom's house at 11 am on Saturday. 14000 S. Redwood Rd. Bluffdale, UT. I really don't expect anyone to buy anything, but it would be great to see any and all of you. Plus, I'm going to feel really dumb if only 2 show up. :) So, I hope to see you all there! There will be some good food, too. If you by chance want to look at the jewelry, or even buy something, but can't come to my party, you can go to this website: www.liasophia.com/randifrank

It's a...

It's a boy! We just found out today and we're real excited. Chad's especially excited. He wanted a boy really bad. I think more than anything he just would have been dissapointed if it was a girl because he wants a boy so bad. So for that reason we're both happy for a boy. It'll be fun to have both a girl and boy and be able to be happy with whatever comes later. It's so fun to find out. Chad has always wanted to name a boy Cody Kenneth, so I'm assuming that's what we'll go with. FUN! I can't wait for this little boy to come.

My Mission Statement

Okay, so I've debated posting this for a couple of months now, but for some reason just feel like I should. I don't bear my testimony to people too often and kind of feel like this is a way I can. I got a great book from my mom for Christmas titled "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" by Sean Covey. Yes, his dad is the one who wrote "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People", which I also have from the Previous Christmas, but haven't been able to finish yet. I know I'm not a teen, but this book is really great because it is more fun and simple to read and has great stories, pictures, comics, etc. I guess I'm still a kid at heart. Anyway, I would recommend it to anyone. It really is a good motivator to be a better person and leader. In one chapter it talked about writing your own mission statement. I kind of put it off, thinking it would be too hard, but after completing the book I decided to give it a try. So on the drive home from a trip to Zions National Park, I attempted to write one, and it wasn't too hard. It came really easy to me and really was quite inspiring. I would suggest everyone write their own mission statement to follow through life. I hope I can live up to this because these things are really important to me, and something about "being true" always catches my attention. Just the fact that some people can be true AT ALL TIMES intrigues me, and is my life-long goal to keep working towards. I am so sad to hear about fading morals and can't express enough how strongly I feel the importance of living a virtuous life is. Now, these are things I'm working towards everyday of my life, not there yet.

What we're up to

Last week I had my preschool graduation, which means no preschool for 3 months! I'm also done with tumbling and babysitting, so it's really nice to just relax. My goal is to get all my preschool planned and supplies ready before I start in the fall, so that should keep me busy. So far, it hasn't been such a fun break because Jayci's been sick and she is NO FUN when she's sick! Sick kids have got to be one of the worst things ever! Now I'm sick, but it's easier than having Jayci sick. She's getting better, but still very ornery. Yesterday she was feeling a little better, so she and I got back to some normal activities. It sure is fun being a mom and getting to hang out with my favorite little buddy all the time. Here's what we're up to these days at our house.

Jayci LOVES riding her little bike around on the driveway and our sidewalk (which is only in front of our house)

Our garden is looking pretty good this year, thanks to Chad. He worked hard to get it all planted and lined up just right. The big tall triangle fence things are for our tomatoes to grow up. We planted onions, peppers, beets, peas, radishes, potatoes, asparagus, tomatoes, squash, pumpkins, and corn. Hopefully they all turn out. Not sure what we're going to do with all the peppers, radishes, and onions, but Chad thought it would be fun to plant them anyway.

That's the back of our house way in the background.

The goats are still taking up quite a bit of Chad's time... and patience :) He lets them out to eat our weeds, which is nice, but they are rather selective in what they eat.

Mowing the lawn. Chad takes pride in our beautiful lawn. Doesn't it look nice? I love grass!

Jayci loves to read books. I'll go to check on her because she's being really quiet and find her flipping through the pages of one of her favorite books. It's so cute.

This is her natural crazy hair. Some days (most days?) I just don't get around to doing it.
And something we do a whole lot of lately... watch our favorite shows, like HSM 3 :) Especially when we're sick.

Isn't she just so cute with her ponytail and bow? Thanks Michelle!

We're also planning on getting grass in the backyard, putting up more fencing, taking down our dog's ugly fence kennel, digging up the cement foundation in our backyard, and other fun projects. We've got a lot to keep us busy. Or should I say Chad has a lot to keep him busy. Being pregnant is a good excuse when I don't want to work too hard. :) Don't tell Chad!

A river in our front yard

We have a really tall curb in our front yard, and I've been told it's because when it rains there is lots of run off that comes through. The other day it rained, and there was suddenly a river in front of my house. It was really cool to watch. The cars would fly through it and practically disapear. The water subsided quite fast once it stopped raining. These pictures weren't even at it's worst. The thunder was amazingly loud, too. My neighbor even claims it struck his front yard. It's fun to watch from inside and makes me grateful for my home!

Can you see the cars?
